An update

A year ago today I had to say goodbye to Sheep.

I start my new job as a teacher on Tuesday and already there are last minute happenings. It’s so easy to place blame on other people, but big picture-wise it’s really all okay. I am nervous of the mistakes I’m already making and the pressure that only I can feel. I don’t want to see this job as a job… but I am afraid of the day I will because that kind of feeling is gradual.

The boiling frog is a parable describing a frog being slowly boiled alive. The premise is that if a frog is put suddenly into boiling water, it will jump out, but if the frog is put in tepid water which is then brought to a boil slowly, it will not perceive the danger and will be cooked to death. The story is often used as a metaphor for the inability or unwillingness of people to react to or be aware of threats that arise gradually. (Boiling frog)

I miss Sheep, my Sheep.

a game about sheep

hairball, a game about sheep.

i made this the day after saying goodbye last year. this game is not very good. it’s quite bad. but i don’t have the energy to make it better even if it’s a tiny little game. grief made this. grief also made it exhausting.

so until i’m able to revisit this, and write more about her, it’ll be here.

it’s been a while since showing visual work.

this is a 2 person show with brian. there will even be collaborative drawings. exciting!

more work is left to do and the feeling of being unprepared looms. but i am optimistic.

it’ll be a good start to 2017.

2016 was pretty awful.
